In-person help for Alabama residents needing assistance with unemployment claims is coming to an end as a new phone appointment system will be established for the new year.
Federal agents converged Saturday on the home of a possible person of interest in the explosion that rocked downtown Nashville as investigators scoured hundreds of tips and leads in the blast that damaged dozens of buildings on Christmas morning.
With the state adding more than 4,000 new cases of the illness daily over the last week and hospitalizations above 2,500 people statewide, researchers at Johns Hopkins University said the state's pandemic death toll of 4,676 ranked 24th in the nation.
