Pelham police looking for missing girl

The Pelham Police Department is asking for help locating a missing 13-year-old girl.

Amberly Nicole Flores was last seen wearing a white jacket, blue jeans and carrying a pink backpack in the area of Green Park South Mobile Homes at 7 a.m. Tuesday. She’s hispanic with black hair and brown eyes, 5’1″ and 115 pounds.

Pelham police on Wednesday said via Twitter that Amberly appeared to willingly get into a dark-colored Mercedes SUV. Anyone with information about her location is asked to contact the Pelham Police Department at (205) 620-6550 or call 911.

Alabama has seen a series of high profile missing persons cases over the last year. Angela Harris, mother of slain college student Aniah Blanchard joined several Alabama lawmakers on Wednesday in calling for a new state constitutional amendment that would allow jurisdictions to deny bail to those considered to be a risk to the public. The accused assailant in the Blanchard case was out of jail on bond after being accused of multiple offenses, including attempted murder.
